Really strange engine wiring problem

If it goes to the firewall and the grommet around the steering wheel you can continue tracing it by removing the panel underneath the steering wheel. It’s held on just by force (with two “Jesus” clips) and is easy to remove.

I would imagine that whatever that cable does it’s not from the factory 🤷‍♂️👀

Makes no sense. Its like the injector was not firing so someone tried to supply direct power - which is a weird way to do it since power can be found in engine bay. I would just clip the wire and see what happens.
