Hardy Spicer or simply Spicer, aka GKN I think - you got a quality part coming.

I'm still confused as to why LR didn't put a zerk on the U joint in the shaft as stock.

Why do that when they can sell a drive shaft!!

I suspect it's as much age as miles with the rubber stuff...

Rear joint is fine front one is slinging grease and bearing bad so do not want to f up the replacement diff

New ds came from lucky 8 today, bout 30 minutes for install looks nice, new one looks rebuildable , factory on has rear u joint staked in, never seen that before guess its cheaper than clips

Does anyone remember specifically which tools it takes to R&R the rear drive shaft on the LR3? I'm about 1,600 miles away from home with a very limited set of tools. I want to make sure I have all the tools I need, before the replacement arrives later this week.

You need a set of inverted torx sockets, harbor freight sells em , ratchet , metric socket for carrier bearing and a second set of hands

You can probly do it in off road mode but I suggest off road mode and back up onto ramps
