Default Rear ride height sensor fitment issue

I’m on my now 3rd ride height sensor (Right hand rear)

2 diff ones from Amazon, now from lucky8

all chinesium. With minor differences

my issue is that no matter what I try to do, the connector will not fit onto the sensor deep enough for the clips to engage.

am I missing something here?

There is a possibility that the weather seal inside has slipped forward in the connector. This is cause by dirt and debris being packed in there and when the connector is pulled it shifts and can push the seal forward. Use a pick, like a dental pick or suck, and pull out the seal (often red) and then clean the connector and seal. Coat the seal in some silicone lube and put it back inside.
