Now got random fault. Old dryer ran full cycle to 258 and dumpped galley to 26 after blow off. Fault happened mid cycle but no fault on dash.. Sitting at standard height now with tank full. Fingers crossed no faults when I test drive

Quick follow up, 10 mile test drive zero faults. Everything seems to be working. Will update if faults re appear. Thanks for everyones help. Cheers fellas 🤘
Yeah, lost com faults are what I call ghost faults. Kinda behind the scenes stuff that all too often are not real faults. Was the new one a genuine AMK?

well, I would say knock off since it came new shipped for $178... Came with bracket and new relays that didnt fit either. Motor runs great. Everything else was plug in play. Swapped dryer from my old amk and after a few faults has ran without any problems so far. So basically, the knockoff amk had a **** dryer straight out of the box.
I don't know why aftermarket compressors are so hit/miss. Some seems to last a few years, some a day. Not just AMK but the Hitachi/Dunlop copies too. Are the AMK dryers serviceable like they are on the Hitachi style units? I would be curious and have to open it myself to see what was going on.
edit: Same goes for valve blocks, a few cases of aftermarket ones just not operating correctly and what not.

yes they are serviceable. Everything looked good but after I pulled center block and inspected this morning I knew it had to be the dryer. The old amk I had was fairly new. Other leaks never got addressed and dealer tossed a 1500 pump in for him. Within a couple months he burned it up. Runs just very weak. Ill prob rebuild to have for future misshapes. I found a youtube link for it earlier. When I get home ill see if i can find it again and ill post it for yah.
My dad bought a knock off AMK for his ML mercedes 4x4 from a company called Maxpseeding rods, they sell lots off parts for various vehicles LR included. Not sure i would trust their air struts or compressor on mine though.
