Default Second row seat rattle

I've isolated an annoying rattle to the drivers side second row seat. Thought it was the headrest, because applying some pressure to it while driving fixes it. Drove without the headrest installed, but still have the rattle.

At this point, I would like to open up the seat back and fix whatever the issue is, but a search hasn't turned up how to do this. Anyone have any experience with this? Given how the stitching is on the leather, I'm beginning to think the carpeted portion is the last item installed during manufacturing, and in theory should have some clips that hold it in place.

Thoughts?

Default No help..... Just comfort knowing your not alone.

After the flood i picked up another 2007 last week. It has the same sound, so now there are at least two of us investigating. If I find something this week, I will post it here.

Like title days, I don't have the answer, but like you, I am looking for one.

I notice that when i have all the windows down, the rear drivers side seat belt flaps in the wind occasionally.... probably not what you are hearing but I though it interesting that it was only on the drivers side as well.

Misery loves company?

I still haven't pulled the seat apart. Partly because I've been busy, and mostly because I would prefer not to permanently damage anything. Also, the service manual is very vague at best on how to do this.

While my rattle may not have been your rattle I did have second row one that took me a long time to track down. It had to do with the pull handle that is used to lower the seats. The handle itself will pull straight out. What I found is down inside where it goes there is a little piece of material/plastic that is suppose to clip into the handle mechanism. Mine had come unclipped so rattled around inside there. With the handle pulled out I was able to maneuver a couple fine tools down the slats and clip it back in place. May be worth a look. If your rattle is only on one side, shine a light down the other to compare.
