Default Significant leak…(video and pics)…

I am getting a leak when the coolant system is under pressure Where do you guys think this is coming from? The oil cooler? It’s not the oil cooler lines. Those are farther down. Is it possible it’s above?

I hope that is not just water. My guess is the water pump is leaking and tracing its way down, pretty typical.

It’s coolant. Why are you saying you hope it’s not just water?

It seems like it’s a strong leak to be coming from up there but you could be right. I have replaced the water pump twice in two months. First one was an Amazon cheapo, second one was a Autozone Duralast. I may just break down and buy Atlantic British. But I am not sure it’s the water pump just based on that fast flow but I confess leaks are a challenge for me.

you were right. It’s definitely the water pump. I got a new gasket and it’s still not sealing. I really don’t know what I am doing wrong. Does it near rtv sealant? I did not put any on. It seems to be coming from the bottom. I tightened the bolts as tight as I feel comfortable. I don’t have a torque that goes to 10nm.

10nm is not much, i would definitely be using a sealant on it.

I have no idea other than I had read you shouldn’t use sealant with a plastic gasket. But that’s just the internet for you.

Cant say i've seen a plastic gasket on a pump before, the TDV6 doesn't have a gasket on the mating surface but does have an o-ring on part of the pump that's inserted into the block.
Maybe need to clean the surface up a bit more.
