I normally hang out in the Discovery forums.

Almost two years ago we picked up an '03 Disco. Wrong year, I know, but we wanted to try the "Land Rover Experience" before moving up the LR ladder.

We've since discussed getting an off lease LR3 or even a new LR4, but after some recent headaches with our Disco she's backed off.

The problems haven't been that significant, but did involve it waiting in the garage for a few weeks until the parts arrived. However, she's coming from a Nissan background and hasn't had to do anything but buy tires and change the oil in the 7 years she's had it. With that frame of reference, you can understand why's she'd be leery.

Anyway, what can I do to steer her back into the LR showroom?

 

Take her down and let her drive one, either a good used LR3 or as you indcated, a new LR4. That should do it.

 

Sounds like her instincts are good.

As for getting her into the showroom - - - maybe you can get her drunk.

stick to your guns and just take her in there one day. This is our area. We put up with all the stupid flower pillows on the bed, towells we cant use in the bathroom not to mention that stupid fuzzy thing on the toilet seat wtf. It is time WE AS MEN STAND UP TOGETHER AND SAY NO MORE, THE VEHICLES ARE OUR ARENA. Let them pick a color if yo want to compermise, but we need to flex our voices on this matter it is just about all we have left as men and soon it may be gone as well, so grow a pair and just get the vehicle and say this is what you will drive. other wise we might as well be castrated and put in the basement in a box. Men need to be Men but what makes us who we are has been slowly taken away and we must hold on to this or all hope is lost for our sons and grandsons. I dont want to see an estregen saturated future for my children and grandchildren. before you know it you will see a guy crying watching a movie or worse yet a commercial ( a good LR commercial dose choke me up a tad). Stand up tall and strong and shout I am MAN I will choose the vehicle my family will ride in to keep them safe and comfortable. So I say to you just do it and the hell with the concequences just tell her to get over it.

bring her to an LR dealer with a course and have them take you thru in the LR4... if that doesnt change someones mind i don't know what will.
