Default Squeaking noise when driving.... help please

Hi all. First post. Dire need of some timely expert wisdom

Car details: 2007 LR3, 21k miles

Issue: When driving (generally speeds between 30-80 MPH) my land rover will occasionally start letting out a persistent squeaking sound. Its most noticeable with the windows down and radio off (duh to the radio part) and fairly loud and constant. If it is squeaking and I apply the brake it will stop. It will not stop if I simply let off the accelerator and do not brake.

I tried doing what searching I could to find posts with similar problems and the most common things I heard mention was the driveshaft needing to be replaced (and that I should do it now or I am risking my tranny... ouch trip this weekend planned ) and a belt/pulley issue. Based on the details I couldnt be sure either matched what I had.

Anyone have any ideas what it is? Anything I can test or look for? Am I risking screwing something up worse by driving it?

Really bad timing as I am supposed to head out to the family cabin this weekend for a get together (roughly 4 hour drive each way). So really appreciate all input here.

Wheel Bearings, Belts, Belt tensioner, CV Joints, Diff, vacuum leak, Brakes, Rotors...

How many ML is left on your brake pads.

Hard to say if you can drive it or not, because we don't know what's wrong yet, is it just annoying, or is there another issue, heating up, running cold, roaring, etc.

more sound identification videos that are pretty neat.

If you have no idea where to start, you might consider a visit to a dealer or a LR Independent.

if its going away when you brake, could be hub but i would lean towards brake caliper sticking. change pads if needed, clean up calipers while you are in there and grease them before re-installing. if its hub you will likely feel the slack when you are up on the jack.

Default Same problem

Hi, I’m currently having the same issue and was wondering if you found the root cause. I’m taking a chance as I see your post is quite a bit older. Thanks in advance @jv3x3
