Default Suspension fault before engine is started

Hi there. I have a 2006 LR3 and started receiving a "SUSPENSION FAULT NORMAL HEIGHT ONLY" when turning the key forward without starting the engine. Nothing changes when I start the car. I'm able to drive at normal speeds.

I receive the following error on my IID Tool: C1A09-1C (AF) Pressure sensor signal - General electrical failure - circuit voltage out of range error (attached).

I show a Live value on Pressure Sensor Supply Voltage of 4.97 volts using my IID Tool. I'm not sure where this is measured as I tried to check voltage right at the pressure sensor and I didn't get a reading.

I'm assuming this is an actual fault in the wiring somehow between sensor and the ACM. I've checked continuity from the Pressure Signal wire all the way to the ACM. I will try to track the Pressure 5V and Pressure Ground to do the same.

Am I totally off in how I'm troubleshooting this? Could this fault be triggered by the central valve somehow?

Thanks in advance!

There is a someone common wiring issue forward the compressor and right behind the wheel well. The wires can rest of the frame extension (horn) and rub through. The sensor itself could have failed too.

Thank you. I did swap out a sensor, no go on that. Are you talking behind the left front wheel well? It seems like the wires are nicely routed between the pressure sensor and pop up into the vehicle just in front of the foot rest. When you mention the horn, should I somehow be looking for wires in the very front of my LR3, maybe the small bundle that passes underneath the radiator?

Horn has more than one meaning..... just take it to a dealer.

Chassis horn just behind the front wheel.

Some reading for you -

Thanks for the link and sharing where the chassis horn is. Much appreciated. I've spent a lot of time working on cars, never heard that reference for whatever reason. If I understand correctly, there is a multi plug hidden behind the left front wheel inside the fender liner. I'll pull that off and look for the bad wire. Thanks again.

Problem solved. Attached are a couple pictures. It was easy enough to remove the fender liner. Once removed, I was able to see that the yellow wire with black stripe was corroded and pulled apart with a little tug. It looks like the cause was how the wire rubbed over time against the flexible conduit. A couple other wires were also worn but not to the copper. I spliced in a wire and made sure it was waterproof, protected the other wires, back to normal operation.

Thanks for the assist!
