Default suspension fault notice

I have been getting a periodic bell and light on the dash regarding a suspension fault. If I turn the truck off and back on again, the light goes out. The suspension fault is C1130-66 (6C) Air spring air supply - Algorithm based failure - signal has too many transitions/events. Any idea what that is? The suspension seems to function normally, I do need to check if the ride height will operate when the fault has triggered.

EDIT: I posted first and did a search second....sorry, looks like I have either a leaking valve block, or two or three of them, or a leak in the air suspension system, could be a shock/strut or air line, or the air pump. Luckily, I just got a rebuilt front valve block from Geo, thank you, I will put that in and see if that affects the problem. Keeping those fingers crossed. By the way, there are several posts on this error message and a link to a forum from the UK, all seem to conclude the same, air leak. thanks Phil

air leak for sure, more likely an Air strut. Valve blocks are usually very small leaks that don't throw codes.

Raise vehicle to off road height and shut down. Go outside and listen for air escaping. If not do the overnight test .

^ A spray bottle with water and a little dish soap helps too. Can really help point point leaks unless hidden.

As I mentioned, I got a rebuilt valve block from Geo. Our 2006 Range Rover sport has been dropping a bit overnight but has not thrown a suspension fault code like our Land Rover lr3. I put the rebuilt valve block in the range rover sport and it appears to have fixed the overnight suspension drop. Easy removal and replacement. Two screws to loosen up the wheel liner well and turn to wheel to the outside and you have full access. Be sure to put the truck on jack stands or a good jack because you will bleed all pressure from the axle that you are working on.

I need to to try the soapy water test to track down the source of the leak on the lr3.

I opened up the valve block from the 2006 Range Rover Sport. It was clean. No apparent dessicant residue. Nevertheless, the "rebuilt" valve block seems to have done the trick.

Thanks again Geo! Phil

Is Geo a company that sells refurbished blocks?

Geo is a forum member. He posts a fair amount. He had a kit of o-rings that he had installed in a valve block. Saved me the trouble of rebuilding my own valve block. Worked great!

For those of you that predicted a leaking strut, winner, winner!

Raised the lr3 to off road height, grabbed a flash light and a spray bottle filled with water and dish soap and set off to find the leak. Front right strut, front facing side. Leaking like crazy. Time to replace the struts. Wasn’t counting on that. This truck has been pretty trouble free up until the last 5,000 miles. Then I have had to replace the following:

1. Sunroof drain 90 that is behind the cjb, passenger side.
2. Thermostat housing.
3. Water pump is starting to leak.
4. Alternator.
5. Lower controls arms seem to be ready to replace and
6. now front shocks.
7. Dash looks like a jigsaw puzzle, cracks galore.

Motor runs like a top, everything else works for the moment. Time to sell!

Thanks again for for the tips and advise, this is a great forum. Phil
