I'll try that one for sure and see where it gets me. I have a feeling that this sensor swap will make my life much much easier.
I think so too. 4.0+ Volts means sensor is internally shorted, or installed wrong (oriented incorrectly on bracket, or mis-packaged)

Update:

this might sound crazy crazy crazy stupid lol but I'm using part number LR020161 (right rear).

Is the drivers side rear considered the right rear?

This might be why I'm having all the issues. I just might be trying to install the total wrong side part here

Sounds like LR Techniker hit the nail on the head. Right rear is passenger side rear, so you've got the wrong part, and it's probably installed upside down or backwards to fit.

At least you know the problem now. The rest should be (hopefully) pretty simple to fix.

Correct part number should be LR020159.

We talking sensors? I think the rears are interchangeable (though they may have different part numbers) and the fronts are too...just not front to back. I could be wrong though.

Left and Right are always determined from behind the steering wheel. So driver's side is LEFT and Passenger side is RIGHT.

Sensors are side specific because they sweep in opposite directions.

I just don't think that's correct. If you lived in WA we could make a beer-bet and validate it.

Land Rover gives a different part number for the right and left sides. This true for both front and rear

Old sensors are usually too dirty to tell and new sensors are usually all black, which kind of defeats the purpose.

When he puts the correct sensor on and his issues go away, I don't know how much more validation you need? And I prefer German beer....

Wait...so does that mean the front and rear can be interchanged as long as they are on the same side? I remember the color-coding and so that's why I was thinking of interchangeability. If that interchangeability was f/r and not l/r then it all makes sense and I was remembering it wrong.
