I have an 06 LR3. When i bought it, the rep said something about the suspension lowering for better fuel economy on the highway? I may have mis-understood him.....I have selected the lower suspension level but as soon as i start driving, it rises back up. Is this how it's supposed to work??

I'm not too sure about the LR3s, but Range Rover does that without any input from the driver. The lever next to the terrain response dial is to select "Off-Road Height", "Normal Height", or "Access Height". Access height is what you are mistaking for the highway setting. Access height is to lower the vehicle to enter parking garages that have height restrictions and also to simply provide better egress and ingress of the vehicle.

When using access height to enter parking garages and other height-sensitive areas, you must hold the lever in access height for a few moments until you hear a "ding". This tells the driver that the vehicle is now locked in that access height so that the truck won't simply decide to raise itself and cause a problem.

 

if you happen to be able to 95mph or above, the LR3 will lower itself for better road manners, but at 95mph you will be burning enough fuel that lowering it will not help with the MPG's, its in the owners manual somewhere

 

I bought my 2005 LR3 used from a non Land Rover dealer and they told me the same thing... turns out they don't know what they're talking about. When you're above 20 mph, you're restricted to Road Height which is the middle height setting. Off Road (highest) and Access Height (lowest) are restricted to slower speeds for off road and things like low parking garages or ease of access (as the above poster also mentioned).
