Default T Case output Bearing

Hi apparently I have a noisey front T Case bearing, thought it was my Front Diff but that was Changed About 8000 miles ago. Does anyone know if this is a T Case out bearing rebuild job or is it as the mech who looked at it said drive it till it breaks as not worth doing, then drop in a New / rebuilt T Case.

ok so it's a replacement T Case as the only option, seems no one bothers to fix these.

I am going to embark upon an LR3 transfer case rebuild soon. Unfortunately I have not found any information on it yet. When I do I will be sharing.

@abran, this is a fantastic thread on the dd295 tear down and rebuild. I bookmarked it long ago, but haven't found one cheap enough to buy and fiddle around with yet. Hope it helps.

I replaced all three seals on my transfer case a few years ago. You'll need a chimpanzee to help you remove some of the bolts that attach the transfer case to the transmission. Why a chimpanzee? Because they have smaller hands to access those IMPOSSIBLY tight spaces, and they have incredible animal strength to break the bolts free. You'll also need a stubby ratcheting wrench because again the clearance is insanely minimal. Lastly you'll need patience, lots of it, because you'll only be able to make 1/100 of a complete turn with your wrench due to the tight space.
