Default Tail Gate Window Replacement

Has anyone ever replaced the glass on the tailgate. Went to get in mine this morning, shut the drivers door and BOOOOM!!!. The tailgate glass just exploded.

Looks like the glass is bonded to some sort of rubber that is itself bonded directly to the surface of the tailgate.

I'm sure it's possible...I'm interested too. I scratched mine up pretty good trying to get some tree pitch off of it. Anyone know any good window polishing product that could get those scratches off without damaging the window/tint? (sorry I don't mean to thread jack)

Cant remember if you are in the US, I have one in Zambezi, but that doesn't help you.

If you just replace the glass you will need all the trim and a good windshield guy.

Not perfect, but will suffice for the time being. The rear side windows are sign written, hence the grey colour.

Is there any reason why the trim needs to be replaced? From what I can see the glass is just bonded to the tail gate by a rubber seal. It does not appear to have any attached trim. Only attachments I can see are the connections for the heater and antenna?

Thanks for the offer on the full tail gate though :-)

Contacted the local dealer to get a price on the glass and the seal.
