Tailgate Issue but not the Actuator or maybe it is?
This morning when I started my 2007 LR3 I noticed my tailgate showed open on the dash. I got out and the upper part was open, I pushed it shut but as soon as I did the actuator went off and opened it again. I tried to open it all the way to close it harder but the switch in the handle didn't appear to do anything. Driving around the actuator was going nuts, sometimes opening/closing every second. After I got home I went back outside to walk my dog and I could hear the actuator cycling while it was sitting in the driveway. I did some troubleshooting and I can get the upper tailgate to open if I have someone pulling on it when I press and hold the lock/unlock buttons on the dash so it's not the actuator, I think it's the switch on the handle that is not working. If that switch was going bad would it cause the actuator to cycle as it has been? I want to pull the fuse to stop it from cycling but I can't find a fuse for anything like the rear tailgate, is it called something else? Does anyone know what fuse I need to pull?
From my experience troubleshooting the upper tailgate on my LR3 a while ago, there is no fuse to pull. Yes seems strange but there is no fuse.
My suggestion is disassemble the switch first and replace it. This is the less expensive part so if it is not the switch you have not spent too much money. Part can be found on ebay.

I pulled the fuse for the central locking system, it's the only thing I could see that might be related. I have not observed the actuator cycling but by the time I pulled the fuse, it had become really intermittent. I'll see if I can find a replacement switch on eBay. Thanks for the input.
