for some reason my tail gate is not opening. the manual states that i should hold the lock and unload button for three seconds. i heard the locking mechanism unlock but still no luck. please help.

 

Some forum members have reported problem with the latch and the child guard activation on the hidden edge of the door. Various picks or other devices slid in there to trip latch back. Door latch may have to be replaced, once opened.

Before taking to dealer, get estimate from dealer and compare to the local "pop a lock" locksmith charge.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Dealer fixed under warranty. Cable broke off latch. Had to replace broken latch assembly.
