Default temp sensor or VCT?

Have an 06' LR3 with an ambient temp sensor fault.

have no temp reading on the dash. About to pull the bumper and change out the sensor, but I noticed the car seams to have a shake in the seat, idle is steady but I felt like something was wrong based on the vibration.

checked on Autologic and it's giving secondary causes for the temp sensor fault as the VCT solenoid on bank 1.

anyone know how these are related?

What is the actual fault code you are getting?

I don't remember the code number, but it was for ambient air temp sensor. Turned out to be a fuse, but I was asking because the engine has a lopey idle. RPMs are steady but the idle is lopey.

Autologic was showing the VCT as a possible secondary reason(actually third reason), so I was trying to see if there was a relation.

Now I need to figure out the lopey idle, but there are no codes.

Has the throttle body ever been cleaned? #1 cause for a lumpy idle.

Faults in the Variable Cam Timing usually set a code.

I've seen the RPMs fluctuate from throttle body, but on this one they are steady.

ill give it a try though.

I assume by "lopey idle" that the RPMs were fluctuating. Does it feel more like a misfire?

If there are no misfire faults set, it could be normal engine vibrations that you are feeling from collapsed engine mounts? If you can feel it in Park at idle, use a floor jack and a block of wood to gently lift up on the oil pan (take some weight off the motor mounts) and see if it changes.
