Default Thinking about a LR3... Advice?

Hey guys, am thinking about trading up from my 01 disco to a LR3(used, not gonna give em what they want for a new one.) Anyway, are there any model years to stay away from? Or any quirks to be aware of? Just want to try and make sure I dont get another problem child like the disco I have...

Default Avoid 05

My 05 had a load of problems. Get an 06 or 07 and a long warranty from LR. Also have them throw in service up to 100K as the 70K service is nearly $2000.

Try to find one with the heavy duty package as well.

Good luck.

Most of the problems were fixed with software upgrades. AS you know LRs can be expensive to repair so an ext warr is a nice ins if somthig dose go wrong. Carfax and call the dealer that did the work and find out what was done.

Every software update is about $100. Mine needed a software update about once every 4 months. I don't understand why - it's like they porgram it to expire so you have to come back.
