Default Throttle/Idle issues? Clean your throttle body asap!

I was having an odd issue whenever I came to a stop, the car would idle so low the engine would shake.

Opened up the TB and while it didn't appear too dirty, I cleaned it thoroughly with http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/wcs...8_pri_larg.jpg

Making sure to get the edges of the butterfly.

WOW - problem gone.

I clean mine and my MAF sensor every other oil change. Had the same problem as you did 😔. I also use BP 44K oil change as well.

I would get a reduced engine performance message rolling down a long downhill grade. Occasionally it would also stall out when I went to back into my driveway...

Cleaned the TB and never had a problem since. It's amazing just how touchy they are! I've had cars be WAY more dirty and it made no difference after cleaning it!

So, I too, am a fan! Especially when it's a 20-30min job even if you don't know what you're doing!

Totally. I really didn't hold out much hope, especially when first looking and seeing how relatively clean it was.
Bam! - $4 and 30 minutes later and it's silky smooth.

Tools needed? I'm having codes P0174 and P0171 show up and I was hoping this would be a first step.

A screwdriver and the aforementioned cleaner, some rags, perhaps an old toothbrush.
