Default considerations while cleaning IAC

anything to be mindful of while cleaning the IAC. And any suggestions on what to use as cleaner?

Why are you wanting to clean it?
If you have idle issues, clean the throttle body first and see if that corrects your problem.

Yes, dont move the plunger at all.
Make sure you clean the port it goes into also.

Which way do you move it now?
In the direction of the dealer.
It now needs to be re-calibrated.

I would get it taken care of as soon as you can, you really dont want a cold engine running at 1200 rpm.

The IAC is what controls idle speed when the engine is cold, kinda like a choke on a carb, only it controls just air.

Default good point

strangely the car sat for three days.... then shen i started it no problems... idling at about 650 700 (just a tad higher cold) and it has been that way for two days now... its almost like the IAC sorted itself out... or maybe it was something else causing it ... either way im not one to look a gift horse in the mouth... so ill just take it as a good sign and keep my eye on it for a week or two
