Towing w/ the LR3
I recently purchased a small boat and trailer, and for the first time hooked up the hitch receiver stowed in the back of my LR3.
Used a friend's ball mount/ball and it was quite low, almost unusable. I checked today w/ Atlantic British and found that the ball mounts they sell for the LR3 are also dropped (either 2" or 4"). From what I can tell, due to how low the hitch receiver is dropped, the ball mount should raise, not drop.
Anyone with experience towing that can weigh in?

But, anyway ... aren't there ball mounts that raise instead of drop? Wouldn't it be easier, and better for the vehicle, etc to have the suspension at normal and get a ball mount that raises instead of further drops the level of the ball?
Or .. did Land Rover design the hitch receiver to be used w/ a 2" or 4" drop?
Its a european design. but I believe we sell different kits for those. Aint cheap but it works.
if the remotes don't work get them fixed. It could be something as simple as a bad wire or a water leak on the driver side.

Depends on the trailer of course. With my small utility trailer I use a 2" drop from the goofy LR receiver. On a taller taller trailer I usea rise. Many drawbars can be used both ways, they just need the ball put the other way around. The drawbar for my utility is a 2" drop but I have also reversed it and used it as a 1/2" rise.
Where are you located? If there is a Tractor Supply you can get a hitch that will raise the ball, no poblem. We got a B&W that you can raise, lower and has all three ball sizes think it was $75.00 at the trailer dealer.
