Just out of curiosity, could you tell whether the sound was coming from one of the bearings or from the internal components?
that is a good Question, I don't know the sound can be heard with a listening device from around the rear output shaft but the sound could be resernating from anywhere inside. There is some play in the output shaft but until you get into it who knows.
