What is this plate? and zip kit thing? separator gasket? you mean to open the Valve body?
Correct, the gasket fails and causes pressure leaks which will cause shifting issues. Zip is a repair and shift improver kit.

Yes but you need to check which plate is fitted to your valve body first.

so I am going to get started on this probably tomorrow. Any guides out there on how to properly do this job as well as where is that serial for that plate ?

I do feel comfortable doing it but it’s always better to see things before hand to eliminate mistakes. Like a spring flying off into narnia or something.

The sonnax kit comes with excellent instructions but worth watching a few youtube videos first, its important to be meticulously clean and organised so you don't lose any parts or get crap in there. I used carby cleaner to clean the valve body halves and a woven cotton cloth to wipe it down (lint free).

No because the plate is determined by the valve body code so you need to get the right one.

Correct, so you get the same separator plate and the gen1 zip kit .
