Default Transmission Fault Codes P0730 and P0735

My wife and daughter drive a 2009 LR3 HSE 4.4L. On a number of occasions they have complained about the engine reving up but the truck not accelerating. At the same time they would have code F flushed on the dashboard. This condition is intermittent and I have not been able to reproduce it myself when I am driving. So, I took the LR3 to a mechanic and he was not able to reproduce it either. However, he was able to read out a number of fault codes some of which (P0735 and P0730) are definitely transmission related:

178,730km - Event 7 P0735-00 TCM 178,730km Gear 5 Incorrect Ratio - No sub type information
177,682km - Event 6 U0402-94 ATCM 177,682km Invalid Data Received From Transmission Control Module - Unexpected operation
177,668km - Event 5 P0730-00 TCM 177,668km Incorrect Gear Ratio - No sub type information
177,406km - Event 4 B1B78-84 HVAC 177,406km Air conditioning system under pressure - Signal below allowable range
177,256km - Event 3 U0421-94 ATCM 177,256km Invalid data received from ride level control module
C1A20-64 RLM 177,256km Pressure Increase Too Slow When Filling Reservoir - Signal plausibility failure
U0132-87 VDM 177,256km Lost Communication With Suspension Control Module "A" - Missing message
177,250km - Event 2 B1B87-3A BCM 177,250km Seat height motor speed/position sensor
693km - Event 1
P0420-00 PCM 693km Catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1) - No sub type information INVESTIGATED

One of the likely causes is low or dirty transmission oil. I had transmission oil and filter replaced (lots of money!) but the problem persists.

My mechanic can't say for sure but he thinks the clutch packs may be worn out and transmission needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Should I continue to look for alternatives? Should I try to find a used transmission? Should I just junk the car?

Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

Did you hose or steam clean the engine - if so then the connectors behind the battery box could be a problem
