Default Transmission Fault E, what did I do?

Ok, the summary of my demise. Full disclosure, I am a mobile mechanic, and was returning home from a distant job, when my transmission went completely out. As my 2005 LR3 4.4L came to a slow stop, nothing I did to the petal made a difference. I saw some smoke coming from the engine bay, and new something had been blown, ruptured, cut off etc. Popped the hood, and hello, my transmission cooler line had come off the radiator feed, and I lost considerable amounts of tranny fluid. I was too far from home to get extra fluid to put in it, I dam sure was not about to put some lower quality fluid in to get home. Got the tow, and went peacefully to sleep.
Next morning, I attempted to put the car in gear, and it would shift all the way through, but still not movement. Went to work on fillin'er up with fluid. After realizing that I had put at least 5 quarts in, it was clear that it had lost just about every drop, which made sense why I wasn't moving. At this point, I had also decided to disconnect the battery while I put fluid in, to possibly clear the ECM, and somehow start fresh (i know, shouldn't have gotten creative). Fluid in, and the car moved fine. Did a proper topping off of the fluid, with engine/tranny temperature raised at proper levels, and I believed I was all set. When I put the key in, and turn to any position, the dreaded "E" fault jumps out at me, and I know it was something I might have loosened behind the battery. Below are some pictures of some wires, that were hanging orphan with no identifying link to where they go.

I understand there are many threads online about this dreaded "E" fault, and this loss communication with the transmission module (U0101-87) error code can be linked to a number of electrical issues. I believe mine is narrowed down to what I did when disconnecting the negative ground ( I was a bit aggressive), and wanted to know if anyone may have some guidance on what I could have knocked loose....? More importantly, what do these wires below connect to...? They are the connectors with the green tip on the male fittings.

Ok, quick update. I realized that the Dash Fault "E" was for the most part sourced at the TCM, and so I thought I give it a good lookie look. Found some blue-green residue, and so I could have had some bad connections. Gonna give it a good scrub and perhaps this will sort it out. Feel free to reivew the picks below, and perhaps this may be my solution.

Corrosion doesn't look bad but what is the other side like, i wouldn't think that is enough to cause comm issues but then i had similar on my gear shift plug and the PCB on the shifter was fried.

I was feeling somewhat the same conclusion, and after spraying some electronic cleaner and taking a brush to it, I thouth to take a look at the inside of the module. This vehicle had a very bad cowl warping, and water was dripping down into the cabin air filter cavity, and perhaps some may have dribbled a bit on this module, slowly erroding the circuit board. After opening it, it was fairly pristine inside. So next steps will be to examine and clean the connectors leads, and investigate that PCB component.
The crazy thing is, I had not warnings out side of the "F" for transmission fault, due to the absense of any oil, and the moment my impatient-inventive self decided to disconnect the negative battery lead.....Bam! here comes the Fault "E". I even tried using my IIDTool to clear/reset the transfer case and ecu flash the module, but get an error code of E4, which i believe means there is a communication failure. I will investigate the PCM, and report back once its done.

Status update. So, as I mentioned, I am a mobile mechanic and I had a pressing job to complete across town. The LR3 will go in gear, but would not shift out of 1st gear. I decided to roll the dice and "drive my grandma to church," going really slow. I made it to my destination, approximately 3.5 miles away, and as I pulled to park the Fault "E", chimed and became a Fault "F." I immediately knew this was a slight upgrade, and became super puzzled as to what was going on. Some form of communication had taken place. With the Fault "F" now appearing, I decided to do the old, turn the vehicle off, and restart the car, to reset the signal sequence.......and wallah, it was a clear dashboard.
Now to this point, I had placed an order for a Mechatronic Unit to be put on my valve body. My JLR software suggested that I change the transmission temperature sensor, to clear the issue, and that particular sensor is mounted on the Mechatronic Unit and can't be removed (or I haven't figure it out just yet how to remove it). My thinking was that I needed to drive a bit, to raise the transmission operating temperature, getting the fluid to flow properly throughout the transmission, and the signal was then able to run it full course through the cycle? If you find yourself with this Fault "E" after having your transmission fluid drained out. Refill it, and then dry it cautiously for a couple miles to see if it clears up.
