Updated results for TrueDelta's Vehicle Reliability Survey were recently posted.

Land Rover LR3 reliability, in terms of successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year:

2005: 121, worse than average

2006: 66, about average

2007 and 2008: no data

Owners from this forum have been very helpful. Still, sample sizes were a few responses below the minimum for both years, so on the site these results are asterisked. Additional participants needed to provide precise results for all model years.

We'd like to get rid of those asterisks in the next set of results, in February, but it's going to be tight. A few more participants per year would be very helpful.

Hey, I'd like to bump this thread just incase so more people can see it. I do not own an LR3 yet, but the reliability data on truedelta is very nice for making car comparisons.

Some of them. We actually have a good number of 2005 and 2006 owners signed up. But the response rate for LR3 owners is lower than average.

 

The latest Car Reliability Survey results were recently posted. The reported number of repair trips per 100 cars per year for the Land Rover LR3 and Disco3:

2005: 152, worse than average, small sample size

2006: 101, worse than average, but not far from "average," decent sample size

217 LR3 and Disco owners signed up so far. A great start for a low-volume model. Thanks, guys. That said, more needed, especially for 2007 on.

We've added the diesel, for those outside the U.S. who own an LR3 with this engine. Also added the Discovery 3.

We have updated results for the LR3 to include owner experiences through March 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2006: 135, worse than average

2005: 122, worse than average, small sample size

Note that while repair frequencies are worse than average, they're still just a bit over one repair, usually minor, per vehicle per year.
