Trunk lid wont open! . . . HELP!

Trunk lid wont open! . . . HELP!
OK, so I have a 2007 LR3, car has been ok for me(my wifes car) and yesterday I took the car to the local hardware store. Bought some items for the house and tried to open the trunk and NOTHING! All it dose is just an acctivation noise, no "click" noise as usual. Tried to see if there was a fuse for the trunk release, but no!
Any suggestions or help on whats going on would be greatly appreciated!
