You have the correct connector. Unplug it, turn on the windscreen heater and check for 12 volts.
BUT........ the fact you said "not entirely working" indicates it is the windscreen itself that has bad wires in it. It happens more than we like. Over the years my rovers have had little strips stop working at various locations. My current rover has a clean passenger side and a strip about 2 inches wide just left of the center of the steering wheel. Basically worthless.

If you have small parts that are not working, you need a new windscreen.
On a lighter note, a complete replacement of the windscreen may solve your leak.

I can say now that there is an "End to the Madness"! After confirming that the leak just had to be coming from the upper left hand corner (pillar trim removed and headliner lowered to gain visibility to inside glass area, drip drip in one spot) the installation of new front glass by safelight stopped the leak. Before replacement I tried some silicone caulk on the outside which did not work. Safelight tried to backfill which did not work. I then tried to backfill with silicone where drip was and the leak only moved over about a 1/4 inch. Decided to replace the glass which had some chips and the right side issue with defroster anyway. Safelight did a good job and leak is gone. I replaced the outside pillar and cowl trim. The upper windshield rubber gasket trim came with the glass. I did not realize that the trim piece is installed with the glass. So in conjunction with tape strip and glass sealer you get a strong bond to hold the weather stripping tight to the glass. I pulled some of my old stripping back when hunting down the leak and once pulled out it sometimes will not reinstall correctly. It' what happened in my situation. Safelight tech cautioned on doing that. What is strange is the tech said he could not find any signs of leakage around the old seal and usually they do. During my leak testing I made sure to only put water in the corner and checked multiple times. The leak started not long ago and I think it has not been leaking long enough for a tell tell sign to show up in the old seal. Who knows but its fixed and the front sunroof drains are new so the LR is good to hit some trails rain or shine. Good to have it back on the road. Thanks for the replies!
