What came on my car when it was built?
My search skills are not up to full speed yet, so if there is a thread (and there always is) point me there, or somewhere please.
I have a 2007 LR3 with the 4.4 HSE trim level. VIN SALAG25407A433242.
It has over 100,000 miles and I just became the next owner. I do not know the service history so I am doing all of the routine items I can in the next few weeks. (No, I won't do something more than once just because it has to be done every 50,000 miles).
I have downloaded the RAVE manual and has been a BIG help....but.....
My next project is Transmission / Differential fluids. I can find a source for most fluids, but I do not know if I have a locking rear diff or not. (this could change the type fluid I need, so thats the reason for the thread)
Is there an accurate way to find the options installed or a "build sheet" like other types of cars?
The forum is always my "go to place" for info as everyone here as blazed the trail before me, so I hope someone can point me to a URL or such for this question.

People say that the easiest way to check is to see if a) you have a full size spare tire instead of the donut and b) crawl underneath the car and look for the motor on top of the differential that only the locking differentials have. Personally, I found (and still find) this to be very difficult. I just have a very hard time seeing it. However, I still have Microcat installed on my old laptop (I was using it when I was looking at LR3s last year) and plugging in your VIN number, it says...
Rear Axle Locking Differential!!
Woo hoo!
So, you need the extra special Carbon Mod blahbeddy blah fluid (part #LR019727) for your differential.

Thanks, and yes I do have a full size spare. And no, I can not see up there very easy (I did not know to look anyway).
OK, what would I gain by having Microcat?

Microcat is basically the parts catalog that dealers use or used to use (I think). There's really no reason to have it. I simply installed it because I was specifically looking for an LR3 with the HD package (locking rear diff) and this was the easiest way to be able to check a lot of VIN numbers without bugging the dealer every single time. It's not a user friendly program at all and it has to be cracked/hacked to get it to work anyway. It is nice because I can look up part numbers for lots of things, but that's the only benefit it provides.
