What did you do to your LR3 today?
Regarding your ZF 6HP26 transmission, while you may have already looked at and downloaded the various files, but if not, here is the link.

Regardless of what LR used to advise, the tranny oil and filter should be changed every 50 to 80 thousand miles.

I appreciate the comment.
Below is a link to the whole gallery. There is a fair amount of info within that I have picked up over the years.
For what it is worth, Land Rovers are more reliable than initially they would seem.
Keep in mind however that relative to say a Chev or Ford pickup, they do need a lot of preventive maintenance plus you do need an understanding of the computer systems.
The primary thing to remember is that not everything breaks down all at the same time. This reality is very much at odds with what the computer systems and codes would infer.
The best first fix attempt for any sort of computer warning is to put the battery on a trickle charger for a week of evenings to get the battery back to near a 100% state of charge. A weak battery, (that is one that reads less than 12.3 volts when parked and all shut down vs say 12.7 volts tends to generate false trouble codes - a improved state of charge can fix that.
Yes, the computers run at 5VDC, but I tend to think the voltage step down circuits are not what they could be - they are just too sensitive to battery voltage.

Yeah, that's another project I have. My Hi/Lo Level switch does not work. Well, actually it did, but the transfer case switch did not work. I bought a replacement and was in too much of a hurry to notice it was just a "pull-a-part." But, on this second one, it is the Hi/Lo height switch that does not work, and the transfer case switch does! I suppose I could drive around with both switch panels or come up with the $300 or so for a new switch panel. But the cool part is, everything else is just fine. Well, except for the door lock, but I'm trying to ignore that for now. Ha!
Hi Paul,
I have this Kit that I could sell to you. I bought it about 18 months ago with the intention of installing it, and doing the Transmission Fluid change myself, but ended up getting a local mechanic to flush and change the Fluid. Hence, because I won't need to change fluid for another year or 2, I am not motivated to spend teh time fitting the new Pan. It comes with 4 'pieces - Actual Metal Pan, Filter, bag of bolts, and Gasket. In original box, and the gasket has never been removed, and has stayed flat. I will need however to use a new, different 'outside' box to ship to you. I will make sure I pack it well. I would prefer Paypal as the payment method. Send me a PM if interested - You would be doing me a favor, by helping me to clean out my garage, and also helping to pay for new rear brakes... I also have some related printed installation information that I'll include, that I started to gather from forums / web, as preparation for the project. Cheers, Simon.
