I replaced the front wiper motor and linkage. It probably took 15 minutes and most of that was trying to remember where the wiper blades are supposed to sit on the glass.

I bought a used motor, and it was labeled 2012 LR4, so I figure the linkage was in better shape than the stuff already on the vehicle.

It was beginning to sound like a group of wayward felines had taken up residence in my LR3's engine, so I replaced belts and pulleys today (91k miles). Not a bad job, just have to make sure you use the right tool for the fan clutch pulley. There are many write-ups around so I won't bore with details.

I sourced all parts from Advance.
5060925 Main belt
5080335 Fan belt
89007 Tensioner pulley
89016 Tensioner pulley
900873A Idler pulley

They had all parts in stock with the exception of the Fan belt and Idler pulley, those were ordered yesterday and arrived at the store this morning. Engine sounds nice and quiet now.

Default How is it so shiny?

I was just noting how shiny and new looking your 3 is.

I assume that did not just happen>

I'm beginning to hear a little subtitle whine myself coming from the engine bay. I have 134K miles. Probably going to tackle this once winter is over. too cold out here in NYC to fight with the fan clutch assembly. thanks for the part numbers. I am not sure which pulley/tensioner is the culprit but maybe taking it to the shop for the a tire sensor change, they can point me directly to the source and change it out when it gets warmer.

Oil change, air filter, MAF sensor and EGR valve. Next up differential and transfer case oil change.
