Question What type of multi media car radio to buy

Good morning, everyone.

This is my first time on the forum, and I have a question. I purchased a 2008 LR3 HSE. As I updated some of the parts, I noticed the navigation system contains secret menus. I want to upgrade the navigation system in the same spot but a modern multimedia touch screen radio with Bluetooth. This is my question, what type of aftermarket multimedia radio system will grant me access to the secret menus like the original navigation system? I thought I'd ask everyone on the forum, rather than going to a LR dealership and let them tell me with a hefty price tag. Thank you.

No aftermarket unit with give access to the secret menus and honestly they aren't that great anyway, lots of posts on head unit upgrades but since you have sat nav you need a unit that either integrates to the factory system or replace the screen with one that does.

Thank you for the speedy response. I will take your advice referring aftermarket unit. Tomorrow I plan to go to the dealership to see the latest OEM navigation unit I can use to replace the 2008 LR3 HSE current system. Thanks again!

Dealer wont help, it will have to aftermarket. Do a search on here first to see what others have used.

While it is some work, one can swap in a nav unit from an LR4. But some on screen audio functions wont work, like selecting audio sources, has to be done form head unit itself. And the display brightness is stuck on full... I made a module to control that aspect. Otherwise it will be aftermarket. And really as mentioned the secret menus are cute but really dont do much of anything.
