for less than the $390 the stealership wants

I heard rumors of them being available somewhere for about $275 but i cant find 'em anywhere.

Ebay usually has a few for sale at a good price. Also remember that you have to buy the wiring harness as well or you have no trailer lights.

 

try ebay or craigslist. I got mine on ebay saved a ton. Get the wiring harness from the dealer

 

so, how does one know if you are getting the same quality for an item like this. My dealer quoted $485.76 for the receiver! I'm not sure how one dealer can justify a 25% increase over another, but my real question is, are the ebay/craigslist variety of the same quality? ie, cast iron, tight fit, made to tow a boat, etc.

 

Just purchased the KNB500080 (slightly different new model I guess) from rovercity.com and the wiring harness YWJ500220. (I paid $490 for both of them shipped fedex and insured from FL to CA).

Will install them this weekend.

The one I got on ebay is oem. I dont know of an aftermarket company that makes one.

 

Just installed the prodigy brake controller, the ford 3035 pigtail cable, the rear YWJ500220 wiring harness kit and it all took about an hour from start to finish....no problems-honestly.

-and it all actually works!
