Default Window Switches only work when door open

Hi I have a 2006 LR3 that has a weird electrical problem, when the door is shut the window switches on the drivers side won't work, and they side marker light on the driver's side door stays on contently, and if you press any of the window buttons you hear a buzzing sound from a relay and nothing. If you open the door all the windows work and the side marker turns off. Any thoughts?

Possibly broken wire(s) in the door passthrough. Either wires shorting together or a ground circuit open. Opening the door changes the position of the wires and may be clearing a short or allowing broken ground to make contact.
