I know this sounds very strange but it is true my disco will not start unless I open the rear door. Please help! I am suspecting some strange electrical issue but I am stumped.

How well do you know wiring?

What changes when you open the door ? (the rear pin switch)
is no longer depressed and the light is on.
Short on switch?

Will it stay running after you shut the door?
If it does then it maybe the starter, and not the fuel pump.

I looked in my book last night to see if I could find ground points
it did not show them.

This maybe something you will need to get done if you don't have
a meter or test light.
