AGLR thanks for all the advices, really makes it easy for the next guys

Got my M11 polydrive/ribe bit, pulled all my head bolts - surprisingly none of the threads were stripped. Still have to disconnect the exhaust, O2 sensor and couple bolts on the back of the heads before pulling them.

Huggi,

Can you post the drive that you found that fit well? Was it an 11mm ribe?

The m11 bit fit ok, not the best. Slightly better than the 10mm hex, I'll get a picture for you

Most people do seem to refer to the polydrive and RIBE as the same thing. I think they're actually slightly different, that's why even the closest RIBE doesn't fit perfectly.

This is the only one that I have found that is made directly for this application. Expensive for this single tool, but I have not come across a polydrive bit identical to this any where else, so if anyone else has please post a link.

Completed the install of all head bolt inserts in the block this week. The NS300L kit makes the process easy to complete. No question that the job would be quicker and easier if the block was out of the vehicle on an engine stand, but with a little patience it can be done without doing that. With the additional time that it took to maneuver around other items in the engine bay, I averaged about 30-45 minutes per insert.

Second head stripped of valvetrain last night. Will go to engine shop for resurface this week, then reassembly begins.

2nd head valve train removed, head washed and new exhaust valves checked for fitment. Lightly "lapped" with sharpie. Seats look fine. Old exhaust valves were just too pitted to put back in.

First thing next week heads will go out for fresh surface.

Final parts shipment coming in monday.

Finally seeing the light at the end. Things are now going back together.
