Default 2011 LR4 62k -tire pressure monitoring system

tire pressure monitoring issue - light came on indicating low pressure. there was a nail in the tire, post repair the light came back on. took it off at tire shop and there was no leak. now light is telling me that the tire is not being monitored at all....maybe a dirty sensor? any thoughts? thanks!

6 years on, it's safe to assume that the battery in the sensor has failed.

Replacement sensors are about $45 each at Rock Auto.

ok that sounds like the best path - replace the sensor. I also heard that it could just be the batteries?

Likely the battery in the sensor at that age. But the battery isn’t replaceable so you have to replace the sensor itself. If you go to a tyre shop they have a wand they can hold near the sensor to test if it’s still transmitting and if the battery is low

Be careful about aftermarket sensors. Although in theory compatible some people have experienced intermittent comms issues with them. So if price isn’t crazy I’d suggest getting an oem one to be sure

VDO is the OE manufacturer for the sensors that LR uses, I believe.
