Under 100,000 miles coolant leak never even overheated put 3600.00 in repair and 6000.00 in maintenance 90 days ago and now engine seized.

What caused it to seize?

 

They are not sure without taking it apart. Thinking lower engine.

 

If you have that much in it, (and I feel your pain) how about a replacement engine? You could then keep if indefinitely if it's in good condition.

 

The estimate for a new engine was 15000 to 22000 and that’s if they could find one. Seemed too high to make it worth it.

 

I meant a second hand unit. Plenty around. Wouldn't put a new engine in a used vehicle unless someone else was paying. It's not just LR that have the engine; certain jags also. I'd have thought the price would be vastly lower than the $15K you were quoted for a new engine. A decent indy would be able to fit it without too much trouble.

 

The 15k quote was for a used engine. I know it’s crazy. I haven’t found a place that would do it lower. I would put 10k in it but not much more. Know of any? I’ve got a salvage bid of 8k right now.
