Exclamation 2016 LR4 landmark ed Fault Codes U0102-00 & C1A20-64.

Hello Everyone,

I am hoping you can help me out. I recently upgraded from my 1996 Disco SE7 to a 2016 LR4 Landmark Ed. Shs has only 60K miles on her, looks and drives beautifully . I however keep getting an amber warning light and a notification that says"suspension fault " Normal ride height only" - So I took it to have a diagnostic and got the following two errors:

U0102-00 - PERMANENT - LOST COMMUNICATION WITH TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MODULE
C1A20-64. - PERMANENT - PRESSURE INCREASE TOO SLOW WHEN FILLING RESERVOIR

Has anyone else had these errors? What is the fix and how much will it cost me? Thank you all so very much for your guidance
Have a great weekend!

Ryan

I don’t think these codes are related. The U0102 code is a com error. This code was just raised by another owner on landroverworld.org, and someone mentioned they think it occurs on all 2016’s that don’t have the HD package (low range gearing). I can’t comment on that, but the dealers have told me that they ignore com error codes unless there is an associated hardware code (P or C code) or an associated disfunction or other symptom. If the car is driving fine, probably nothing to worry about here.

The C1A20 code is an air suspension fault. It’s telling you that, when the pump is commanded to run, the air reservoir is taking too long to get to the desired pressure. This likely indicates a bad pump, a leak, or a clogged intake line (unlikely). Personally, I would start with clearing the code and see if it comes back, but I don’t have any experience working on the air suspension system (yet). Does the ride height adjust to off-road okay? Do any of the corners loose air (car tilts) when sitting over night?

Might try searching for “LR4” and C1A20 - see if you can find more info, and/or posting up on landroverworld.org and some of the foreign forums (Australia (AULRO) and the UK Discoweb).

Hey Ryan,

Long time lurker first time poster as they say.

Anyhow,

This is from the service manual,"C1A20 - 64

Description Pressure Increase Too Slow When Filling Reservoir - Signal plausibility failure

Possible Causes

Suspension air supply unit failure
Air suspension system air leak
Air suspension intake filter blocked/restricted Corner valve stuck open (mechanically)

Action

Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system, test the operation of the suspension air supply unit (vehicle ride height interface) Refer to the relevant section of the workshop manual and test the air suspension system for air leaks

Check the air suspension intake filter for blockages/restrictions
Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system, test the operation of the corner valves (vehicle ride height interface)"

So do you have a GAP IID tool or some other diagnostic rover software?

Are you noticing any sagging overnight etc. When you raise the suspension does it take a particularly long time to go from one mode to another?

Its not much but its a start.

Stu.
