Default Auto Start/Stop Function not available, AND A/C not cooling unless car is moving

So I just purchased a 2016 LR4 Silver Edition. I didn't realize the vehicle had an eco mode in which the auto start/stop function would shut off the engine at red lights for example. Then I pressed the Eco Mode button and a message would appear on the dash saying "Auto start/stop feature unavailable". Also, when I start the car in the morning and turn the A/C on, no matter how long I let it idle, it just wouldn't blow cold air?? Then I got a message that my battery Voltage was low and wasn't recharging. So I brought the car in and reported the low voltage along with the eco start issue and the A/C not blowing when first turned on in the morning. They replaced the alternator and told me the auto start/stop should start working again and the A/C should as well and that (due to the alternator) there wasn't enough power to activate the compressor. I was told the new battery would solve both problems. Well, it hasn't. A/C still does the same thing (thank God it's cold when I'm moving) and the orange "Eco" warning light still turns on the whole time I'm driving. Does anyone have an idea as to what might be happening? Any feedback is welcome. Thanks! (Pic shows the orange "Eco" feature alert)

Did they replace the main battery, the start/stop one or both?

As for AC… guessing compressor or condenser.

Don’t know where you’re located but take it back to the place you bought it from and have them fix the issues. Repeat until complete or you return the vehicle as not fit for purpose.

This is very informative. I didn’t realize there was a separate battery for the Start/Stop feature. They replaced the alternator and I bought a new battery. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll bring the vehicle back to be checked.

I have the same truck (just purchased) and the same problem. The eco light is because the separate start stop battery is dead. It's easy to replace and costs about $200. I haven't done mine yet. You probably didn't need that alternator. I feel like shops just throw parts at problems.

My AC does the same thing and I'm in AZ (105 - 110 degree heat). This only happens on initial start for me. If I start it, the AC doesn't blow cold, but as soon as I start moving, it does and then it blows cold from there on with no issue. I still haven't figured out why.

The start/stop battery's on the opposite side of the engine bay and they have a very short lifespan of about 1 year. I went through 3 of them before I gave up and haven't replaced it in 5 years, mostly because when the start/stop worked, it was the most annoying thing. As for the alternator, I've been through 3 of them so far, they do go bad and stop providing correct voltage so you may well have needed one. Make certain the primary battery measures greater than 12.6volts with the engine switched off overnight. Anything less indicates a faulty battery. As for the AC, I occasionally have that issue on cold start and low RPMs, but once RPMs increase, the compressor turns on, has something to do with load.

I sure hope that battery lasts longer than 1 year. I just replaced mine yesterday and it cost $300. Crazy.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Owners and non owners warned me about the rabbit hole once I bought this LR. I'm constantly learning new things about it and learning the financial lessons associated as well lol. Somehow I still love my LR4. thanks again!
