Considering buying a '14 LR4. OK to pose LR questions here?
Over the next few months I will be seriously considering the purchase of a new LR4. I have joined this forum because I have found forums like this to be helpful in hearing not only about issues but also how people are using/enjoying their vehicles. I do not plan on posting any us vs them questions or bashing this brand or that brand. I will simply be asking for opinions (on things like color and options) and questions about your experience (so that I get a good dose of reality.)
But before I do so is that OK? I don't want to post questions on this forum that are not appropriate.
BTW, I live in the Denver area, am an "empty nester" and currently have a 2014 Acura MDX which is a great vehicle but, as it turns out, not the vehicle for "adventure" in the mountains and elsewhere that I had hoped for. My bad.
Dan
P.S. I will also be doing this on another LR forum so if you use both you may see the same post there.

Ha! I just realized I asked you for your thought on the 2014 on a different thread. ;-)
Would love to hear your impressions of the engine. But I'll post a more complete set of questions in a different post.

We've had our LR4 for 14 months & 23,000 miles now, and we love it. It's so good in so many ways. It's the perfect sized vehicle… Big enough to haul 7 adults comfortably to lunch, 2 kids+2dogs+luggage+gifts to visit family, yet small enough to park just about anywhere without worry of limited door access or being too high for city garage (air suspension). More dependable than our previous X5. This is the go anywhere any conditions car.
Thanks, HedgeRider. Glad to hear that you are happy with your LR4. I am pretty much settled on getting a 2014 LR4 and in fact have put a refundable deposit on an order. Now still debating colors and options. Input from folks like you is not only helpful now but will also be so once I start using my truck.
I'd wait for the '15 model or at least a few months. See my post about my new '14 LR4 HSE LUX in the reliability thread. The new Eco start/stop system failed at 200 miles. I've had 4 other LR3/4s and they all were amazing vehicles though.
2014 ordered today but will not be delivered until June. Indications are that MY15 won't come out until mid-2015. I need it for this Summer so I can't wait. And, to be honest, I am a bit concerned that they will change the shape or other functionality which I don't want. I have also just gone through the nightmare of a first model year with my Acura MDX. I would not want to do that again and the '15 model is like to have some significant changes as they presumably move to an aluminum body. If that happens I would want to wait a couple years for them to work out the bugs.
