I have the GAP IID Tool BT version and it works great to program my LR3 duplicate keys, apparently also works on LR4s now also. To be sure, I'd send an inquiry to GAP... See for a quick demo...

 

I also have the IID tool and have used the key programming function many times; it's superb. I was unaware that it could do keyless entry LR4 keys, however and am pretty sure it cannot.

I would be interesting to hear from 'Comparably' about his experiences in detail. To date, I think the only way to get a new keyless entry key is via the dealer at ridiculous cost.

 

You are correct, I was not looking at the newer keyless LR4, there are some Youtube videos of people cloning those wireless key fobs but using some pretty sophisticated equipment, and there's a Chinese one where it looks like they actually modified the electronics to eliminate the security programming, not sure though... My Mandarin is pretty rusty...

 

I have just discovered this video by "powerfulukltd" using a IIDTool to program a LR4 key and I'll give them a big pat on the back for their perseverance, it is here

Thanks for this post. I'll give it a go and see if it works, I think. Will report back as it'd be good to confirm. I note that their vehicle is a 2010. Hopefully it will also work with the later LR4...!
