DANGEROUS power cut and crazy faults on my 11 LR4

I believe that it went totally silent in the car, but then turned back on - inexplicably.
When this happened, and you were pulling over, was steering still power assist, or did you also have to fight the wheel as with manual steering? And brakes were also not performing as usual? That would certainly mean the engine had stopped and not just a blackout of lights. If engine lost power and stopped, seems like you would have had to turn the key to crank.
By design, the brakes should still work fine with the engine not running, there is an electric vacuum pump to take over in this exact situation. The steering would be the key here.
I took the initial issue to mean that he did have to restart the engine, but either way, I would still be focused on CJB.

As requested, please provide updates/resolution.
I had a rear wiper that would not stop wiping while I was on vacation. Dealer suggested a "soft reset" = disconnect the (+) positive lead from the battery. I pulled the fuse and got back to vacationing.
Glad you and family are safe. New cars are so software/electrically sophisticated that their are bound to be some issues.

HI Waltmink1,
The same thing happened with my 2011 LR4. It shut off driving down the highway going 75 mph with my 2 kids in the car. The whole dash, engine, everything. I took it in and the dealer said there where no alarms but thought it might have been "microcorrosion" that they cleaned off. Two years went by and then it did it again, this time I didn't want to take the car back until they solved the problem. I found your link and said that it sounds like the Central Junction Box. My car has a full warranty and only 50k miles. They have had the car for 2 months can't replicate the issue and refuse to refuse to replace the CJB because they said no alarm was sent in their analysis. I tried to explain no record gets sent because the whole car fails and the computer totally shuts off. I am at an impasse and looking for advice. Thanks knorgaa2@jhmi.edu

Putting this old thread back to top. I experienced similar symptoms last weekend going down the highway with my 2010. Very brief electrical cut, then everything back on just like a normal start up. There was some resulting error messages, but I think these were because some systems were not able to perform their start up checks.
Did replacing the connector or part of it solved the issue? I replaced my battery a couple of weeks ago so I fiddled in that general area. Battery cables are tight, I checked more than twice. Are there any other cables or connectors worth checking for that kind of problem?
Thanks for your help.

Forst I had a charging system fault and then a few moments later all warnings and system failures activated. I even had the vehicle’s air bag 30 mph speed warning activate. I was able to nurse it back to the hotel but the head lamps had turned off and the dash was blacked out with the left blinker blinking but no turn light indicator seemed to be functioning, it was pitch black in front of my vehicle. The right indicator would not operate. I was able to park the car but it would not start.
There isn’t a dealership in Flagstaff so I am wondering how tomorrow will go.
Any pointer/assistance is appreciated.
I figured, will get it into a mechanic(drive or two) first thing Monday. Thinking it’s the alternator and/or battery but fearing it is also the circuit board. Will report back on findings. Thank you for the reply ArmyRover, it’s appreciated.
