Electric AC compressor
Hello,
I have 2012 LR4 5.0 V8 nd recently I have been watching some YouTube clips and saw Electric AC compressor being installed into cars. Has anyone done this to LR4 and if yes can suggest which to use.
Thank you.

I suspect no one has done it to an LR4 for a few reasons. 1st there's the fitment aspect, requiring elimination of the original and subsequent manufacture of installation brackets and placement of the new E-comp. In addition is the requirement to source compatible connections. 2nd issue is replacing the current ALT with a higher output unit, which will rob HP. 3rd - is the loss of efficiency. While an E-Comp is necessary in an all electric vehicle, it is actually a drain of engine resource (HP) in a fuel engine and thus robbing efficiency. Converting energy directly - mechanical to mechanical - is more efficient than going from mechanical to electrical to mechanical again.
There are always exceptions, but not common in this application I suspect.
