Flushing Heater Core, which is which? inlet/outlet
Getting ready to do a reverse flush. Looking at the firewall, which is the inlet and which is the outlet?
2011 LR4, Lefthand Drive
Looking the corresponding, part that connects to the firewall. It seems like the right side is the inlet and left side is the outlet. https://www.roverparts.com/Parts/LR013671G
Update I found answer in the service manual.

I highly recommend disconnecting the core and flushing it on its own first, lots of stuff likes to settle in heater cores. Then you can hook up to the main system and flush. As for which is which, sorry I can not answer that.
That what I intend to do. The photo of the two hose couplings firewall goes directly into the heater core. My plan is to connect to the inlet and outlet sides to flush it.
On the LR3 the one closer to the driver side is the outlet. Another tip I read, and tried myself, was hooking up the hoses backwards after you flush it. It doesn't matter which way it flows in the core and seems like good preventive maintenance.
I wish I had learned that before my was clogged. I tried flushing it and reversing the hoses. That improved it maybe 10-15%. But I will need to replace the core. My indy told me that by the time they are clogged there is nothing you can do to flush them. You just need to replace them. He had tried running descaling solution through them for a few days and it had no effect.
