Default Hard brake pedal at start

I have a 2010 LR4 HSE which I've had for about 18 months now. I've noticed a few mornings recently when the car is cold that the brake pedal is rock solid before I start the car. I have to press it very, very hard to get the car to start - else I get the error telling me to press the brake pedal before pressing 'start'. Once the engine starts the pedal travels in like it usually does.

Any ideas what's causing this - and anything I should be concerned about? The vehicle is still on the extended warranty so if an issue brewing I'd like to know!

Either the booster has a slight leak, bad grommet seal or faulty check valve.

Booster should be able to hold vacuum overnight.

Thank you - I appreciate the guidance. Sounds like I need to take it in and have it looked at. I have the select service extended warranty so hopefully will cover it for us.
