Hi Everyone, new to the group, but have been driving a 2011 LR4 HSE for the past 9 years or so. We picked up our LR4 as a factory certified vehicle in 2013. Local dealer installed trailer wiring at the time.
I have been living with the annoying backup alarm screaming at me whenever I have a trailer connected or bike rack whenever I put it in reverse. Our Rig did not come with the "P" button, and I have read that there is no other way to silence the backup alarm in the 2011s.
Here is my question, has anyone tried retrofitting a climate control head unit (with the "P" button) to an LR4 that didnt originally have the "P" button to silence the back up alarm? If so, did it work? or did you have to also swap out the Parking sensor/camera control module as well? I assume that the wiring harnesses are fairly standard and that the options just get "plugged in" as it goes down the assembly line, but I could be making a huge assumption there.

Any thoughts and feedback welcome. I am about to stick 10" sewing needles in my ears so I may concentrate when backing up our camper into campsites.
