I recently purchased a 2013 discovery 4 with close to 70,000 Kilometers.
After having it for a day I noticed that the gear would occasionally stick on 2nd and not change into 3d until the RPM was at around 4.5k
I have recorded this event on my phone and noticed that the gear indicator on the display panel goes from D to D2 and then back to D when it changes into 3rd.
During all of this I do not touch the gear selector or the manual change (+&-) behind the steering wheel.
This event happens randomly and I can't pick any sequence or condition that will trigger it.
It did happen around 6 or 7 times in the couple of days we had it.
I've taken it back to the dealer who have said they want to see the fault occur themselves before sending it to a service centre.
I know I'm not hitting the paddles behind the steering wheel accidentally because if I did it would stay in the mode where it displays the gear number eg D2,D3 etc. - but it goes back to D by itself.
Have you seen this before? Have you any thoughts?
