Default Lr4 headlamps adaptive questions

I went from a 2006 LR3 HSE w/adaptive headlights to a LR4 w/ adaptive lamps. When I started the LR3 the headlights would do a little ballet and pan out , then down and re-focus to center. I now have a 2010 LR4 w/adaptive lamps and the seem to just stay stationary except while driving and turning. Is this normal? I liked how the LR3 "reset" themselves. I have also upgraded the lamps to the 6000k HID bulbs (TIRE RACK) from the factory 3500K, so far, big difference in looks. I will report back after some nite driving

The Adaptive lights in the LR3 do not have position sensors, so at each "key on" event, the lights do a "reference run" so the car knows where they are.

I have not had to work on LR4 Adaptive lights yet, so I cannot say if the principles of operation are the same or not. If they added sensors, then the reference run wouldn't be needed.

I just bought an LR4 HSE. Manual says it comes with adaptavie lights, but as far as I can tell (and my service advisor) I don't have them. Is this something that needs programmed by the dealer or is it an "extra" feature?

I believe the lux and HSE with vision package come with adaptive lights.
