LR4 repeat parking break repair?
So I have a 2010 LR4 with 145,000 miles, about 20,000 mile ago or 2 years ago I heard a noise coming from my rear wheel.
Brought the car in to the dealer for service. They told me the Parking break pads and mechanism had failed. I had that replaced. Now 2 years later same exact sound.
Again took to the dealer and they told me the Parking break has failed again and the pads have worn th rotor which is discolored and the bearings and hub our deformed from that.
I questioned the dealer that maybe it was not adjusted correctly and that is why the same problem reoccured. They told me no way if there was a problem with their repair it would not show up 20,000 miles later? I find it very unusual that the same exact wheel fails after a repair done just 2 years earlier? I never use my parking break to begin with?
Could this be the initial repair was done incorrectly with improper set up of the tension?

hmmm, you never use the parking brake… but the pads are worn…
Are you aware that the dynamic traction control uses the brakes?
If you are using this system, perhaps start using low gears as opposed to waiting for the dynamic traction control to engage??
Hill descent would certainly benefit from low gearing as opposed to dynamic settings.
I concur, 20,000 kms is a long period to assume it is an installation issue. Possible… but doubtful.
